Artstudiowest.com John Featherstone was trained at the Royal West of England Academy of 

Art in Bristol, England. His subject is contemporary interpretational design, influenced by a lifetime spent in the highly competitive area of commercial art and design.

Inspiration comes from an ability to transform and transcribe ordinary everyday items into relief compositions, created by natural light sources into 3 dimensional canvases he calls wallsculptures.

John's work is largely commission based, he is currently working with plaster / resin and acrylics on canvas.

Following a free-lance career in commercial art for twenty-five years, John was approached by an advertising agency in Clifton, Bristol to spear head the exhibition and display section of the agency's activities for an impressive list of national and international clients.

In a career move to Devon, Teignbridge Council invited John to pilot a scheme to train unemployed people for a career in graphic and creative art. This innovative scheme was later launched across the UK.

John now works from his studio in the village of Wick St Lawrence near Weston Super Mare, North Somerset, England.
